Plingles privacy policy
Covers the Plingles app for iPhone and Android and this website. Effective date: to be set at launch.
Draft. This describes how Plingles is built to work at launch. It will be reviewed before the app is released, and this notice removed.
- No accounts. We never ask for your name, email address or contacts.
- Your progress and settings stay on your device. We don't receive them.
- The app shows ads through Unity LevelPlay, which may collect device data such as your advertising identifier. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first.
- Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
- This website has no cookies, no analytics and no ads.
What the app stores on your device
The app saves a file on your device with your puzzles in progress and finished, solve times, your streak, Journey stars, the past days you've unlocked, your settings, and whether you bought Remove Ads. We don't receive this file, and uninstalling the app deletes it.
Advertising
The app shows ads through Unity LevelPlay, an ad mediation service that works with ad networks such as Unity Ads and Google AdMob. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, LevelPlay and these networks may collect:
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android);
- your IP address, used to estimate your approximate location;
- device and app information, such as model, operating system, language and app version;
- how you interact with ads.
In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and other places where the law requires it, we ask for your consent with Google's consent tool before ads are personalized. On iOS, we ask permission to track through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you say no, ads aren't personalized using your advertising identifier. In US states with privacy laws, you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your data for targeted advertising in Settings, under Privacy.
Ads only appear between puzzles. Videos that give you a hint are always optional, and a one-time Remove Ads purchase turns off the other ads.

Analytics
Only if you agree, we may use Unity Analytics to record how Plingles is played: for example, puzzles started and solved, solve times, Checks and hints used, and whether optional videos were watched. These events come with device and app information and a random identifier for your installation. They don't include your name or contact details. We use them to tune the puzzles' difficulty and fix problems.
Purchases
Remove Ads is bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which process your payment under their own privacy policies. We receive only a confirmation that the purchase was made, so the app can turn ads off and restore the purchase if you reinstall.
This website
plingles.com has no accounts, cookies, analytics or ads. The puzzle of the day saves your letters, time and solved days, and your theme choice, in your browser's own storage on your device. It's never sent to us, and you can delete it by clearing this site's data in your browser.
The site is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may log visitors' IP addresses for security, as described in GitHub's privacy statement. Its fonts come from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for them; see Google Fonts' privacy notes.
Your choices
- Ad consent: change your choice at any time in the app's Settings, under Privacy and consent.
- iOS tracking: in the Settings app, go to Privacy & Security, then Tracking.
- Android advertising ID: reset or delete it in your device's Google settings, under Ads.
- On-device data: uninstall the app to delete everything it saved, or clear this site's data in your browser.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict how it's used, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We don't hold accounts or contact details, so the data about you sits mostly with our advertising and analytics partners, linked to your device's identifiers. Contact us and we'll help you make a request to them, or delete analytics data linked to your installation.
Children
Plingles is made for players aged 13 and up and is not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the minimum age in your country. Our ad service is set up to treat players as not child-directed. If you believe a child has used Plingles and data was collected, contact us and we'll help remove it.
Retention and transfers
On-device data stays until you uninstall the app or clear the site's data. Analytics data is kept only as long as we need it to improve the game. Our partners may process data in countries other than yours, under their own safeguards.
Changes to this policy
If Plingles' data practices change, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app.
